WetnWild 5K Run Walk Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Irvine
This weekend, the WetnWild 5K appears in Orange County for the first time ever, and will be a splashing fun time for the whole family! This is a charitable event to benefit children and families in need living in Santa Ana and Baja, Mexico, how better to help and have fun doing it?
The course is mostly flat and runs over paved road, grass, and hard packed dirt through the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and Wild Rivers Waterpark. But don’t expect everything to be dry, as all runners and walkers should be prepared to “run” the Lazy River, which will send you waist deep in water. After almost a 5k, a dip in the water park should be a blast, so come join the fun wand contribute to a great charitable cause!
Prizes include: Medals, awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category, Road Runner Sports shoe certificates awarded to top 3 overall male and female finishers, and as an added bonus, Chick-fil-A and Juice it Up will be onsite serving breakfast from 6 am to 10 am with proceeds going to the cause!
Also, all WetNWild 5K Participants will get discounted ticket rates to the “Living Waters” Event at Wild Rivers Waterpark which immediately follows the race. Registration is $35 per athlete. (Check out more race details on Facebook here.)
