I love Neumo's. I hate Neumo's. I am not alone. Moe's has a unique niche in this town as one of the only clubs with a mid-range capacity, especially now that The Crocodile has shut down. If you are a musician or deejay that is too popular to play Nectar but can't quite fill the Showbox, then Neumo's is your place. From Mark Farina to the Glitch Mob to the upcoming Bassnectar show, Neumo's gets crazy packed, the dance floor absolutely jammed with elbows and knees and hits and kicks, from the stage side all the way back to the damp nether-region by the staircase. The cover is usually on the expensive side, they search at the door for "spray paint cans" by dumping out purses, and parking is an event in itself. Still, despite Seattleites' multitude of grumbles about Neumo's, the quality of the up-and-coming performers at the venue is unmatched by any other club in Seattle. In spite of ourselves, we can't resist; and Neumo's drags out the crowds and wins again.
