Blues and Zydeco and Muffaletta on Highway 99
Highway 99 Blues Club manages to create an old-school, southern-style juke joint feeling smack in the middle of Seattle's viaduct waterfront mania. How? Perhaps it's the five antique doors they use for the bar, or the blue velvet benches and fireplace, or the fact that the building was erected in 1909. Whatever it is, being in the Highway 99 Blues Club makes you want to drink a mint julep, start fanning yourself maniacally, and killing mosquitoes, just like you were on a big front porch down south. Besides blues, you will also get a hefty dose of zydeco music at the Highway 99 Blues Clubs, which goes well with their Cajun-inspired menu of etouffe, muffaletta, and jambalaya. New Orleans it is not, but for the Pacific Northwest, I'll take it.
