Used to smell like smoke and stale beer
Now it just smells like stale beer. Is that an improvement? You'll have to have been there before and after to decide. In any event, it's a great hole in the wall and a hoppin' section of Capital Hill. About a bajillion clubs within a butts-throw. Get your drink on here and then go dance at Neighbours or get all jittery and Caffe Vita.

The Comet Tavern is Not a Club in Seattle
The Comet Tavern is an experience. One of Seattle's oldest bars, The Comet was opened in 1936 after the ridiculous idea of Prohibition had come and gone. If creaking floorboards and decades of grimy patron history don't reel you in, then perhaps the distinction of being one of the Top Ten Dive Bars in America as listed by Maxim magazine will. Some say authenticity does not exist; those people have never had a beer at The Comet Tavern, or should I say, The Experience Comet Project. Have fun, and remember to wash your hands.
