Safeco Field is the View
The Mariners might not be the best baseball team in the world, but their home stadium has one of the most amazing views of any outdoor sports arena. The Seattle skyline pops behind Safeco, and when you catch an evening game the timing is perfect for a pink-orange sunset experience (lovely for all except those sitting in the eastern part of the stands). Tickets for baseball games start under ten bucks, a cheap evening out, but watch out for the overpriced food and drink ($8 for Bud Light). You can always splurge on box seats if you are so inclined, however I like the nosebleed section. Not just for the ticket price, but for the atmosphere: with the Mariners usually not doing so well, the outfield seats are always sparsely populated, with lots of room to spread out, hoot and holler, and generally get riled up and cause a ruckus (we don't go to baseball games for the Cracker Jack, now do we?) On a warm Seattle summer night Safeco field is an excellent place to spend a few hours and a few more bucks. Bring your foam finger.
