Mainstage Comedy Club: Sophisticated Humor for the Masses

Mainstage Comedy Club in Lower Queen Anne attempts to bring humor to Seattle in a "classy and sophisticated" setting; however we all know how well jokes go over when they are stuffed into the "classy and sophisticated" bag. Uh-huh. What this really translates to: expensive drinks and an uppity crowd. Located across from Key Arena, the new-ish comedy club does have a cozy feel to it and a photo booth (props!), but the 'gourmet' pizza seems to have come out of my freezer. With a few improvements in food and drink however, the Mainstage Comedy Club could become a real destination for Seattleites. Right now however I would rather save my money and laugh at my friends who are much funnier than the comics at the Mainstage and as far from "classy and sophisticated" as you can get. Now that is funny.
