Sunset Strip Music Festival with Ozzy, Slash, Korn, Hot Hot Heat…
Los Angeles is home to some of the best music in America. This is where bands come to live the dream. Long before Axel got off the bus in the video, Los Angeles has been where bands come to make it. Sunset Strip is the Mecca. And for the first time EVER (who knew LA could have one of those) the Sunset strip will be closed so music festival stages can be setup on the strip so you can get your rock on. Yes, its the first ever Sunset Strip Music Festival. And you will be able to legally drink on the street. Sept 10-12 from Doheny to San Vicente it’s on.
The Donna’s, Fishbone, Shiny Toy Guns, Schwayze and Nico Vega along with tons of others will perform on stages setup on the strip, as well as at famed Strip venues The Roxy, Key Club, Cat Club, the Viper Room, House of Blues and Whiskey A Go-Go. You can check out the lineup here.
While the festival will feature all kinds of mostly rock bands, don’t let the ‘taking it to the streets’ theme of the festival make you think it’s free. Cuz it’s not. Day passes (with advance purchase) start at $35 while full event passes can go up to $250 for VIP all event status. Whatever you want to find in a pass and in music, you can get it. Talib Kweli and B Real to Camp Freddy and The Pricks (insert Beavis and Butthead laugh here), there is something for all your music fans. Plus, you can drink on the Strip legally, which is really ironic considering this crowd. Somehow I don’t think this will be any of the bands first time but for the novelty of the first time status it’s fun.
