What do you get if you take 70 of Washington’s best chefs, brewers, winemakers, and purveyors of fine food and beverages, and house them all in one building on Seattle’s waterfront? Aside from one hell of a party, the answer is Guest Chef on the Waterfront, FareStart’s annual celebration of the state’s vibrant food and drink scene. This year’s event will take place on Wednesday July 13 from 6:00-9:00pm, and it promises to be one of the highlights of the summer season.

Guest Chef on the Waterfront is always a great way to taste some of the best that the Northwest has to offer, and this year will be no exception. Restaurants taking part include Barking Frog, Il Fornaio, Salty’s on Alki, Skillet, and Urbane – for the full list of restaurants, check here. The 2011 event will also feature thirty of Rhone Rangers’ member winemakers, from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. They will be pouring their premium Rhone varietal wines to complement the food tastings.

Tickets for Guest Chef on the Waterfront 2011 are available now from Brown Paper Tickets, priced $75. This includes all tastes from the participating restaurants and wineries (those mentioned above, plus other offerings from Caffé Vita, DRY Soda, Elliott Bay Brewing Company, Georgetown Brewing Company, Half Pint Ice Cream, KIND Healthy Snacks, Maritime Pacific Brewing Company, Pike Brewing Company, and more). The only additional cost on the night will be for some of the optional games (wine toss, etc), but all tastings are included.

Guest Chef on the Waterfront takes place at Elliott Hall on Pier 66 (2211 Alaskan Way, Pier 66, Seattle). For further details of the event, and FareStart’s excellent work in the community, visit the FareStart website.
