About CCACC\’s Lunar New Year Festival
Since 1997, CCACC has worked together with Lakeforest Mall to sponsor the largest Lunar New Year celebration in the Washington, DC area.  The goals of the event have been sharing the joy of the New Year among Washingtonians as well as cultural exchange and harmony among different groups of people.

The 2013 celebration will run for two weeks, from Saturday, February 9th through Sunday, February 18th.  There will be exhibits, workshops, and live performances of martial arts, dance, and music all afternoon on February 9th, 10th (also when the opening ceremony will be held), 17th, and 18th.

I am a DC-area native—born on Virginia soil, grew up mostly on the Maryland side, and went to college in the District.  Having dealt with obesity for 5 years, I overcame it as a teenager by evolving my diet and enthusiastically practicing martial arts. My two biggest passions in life are the martial arts (which I teach) and food.  My specific interests with regards to food include the following: cooking, dining out, and savoring; studying on nutrition and sourcing of ingredients; learning and sharing about a variety of foods/cuisines.
