Seattle 100: Portrait of a City by Chase Jarvis

Seattle 100: Portrait of a City by Chase Jarvis

October marks the release of Chase Jarvis’s Seattle 100: Portrait of a City. This fine art book is the culmination of a two-year personal project by this renowned photographer, filmmaker and social artist. From the City Arts Festival Website:

“Both a creative project and an insightful ethnography, Seattle 100 shares – via stunning black-and-white portraits and biographies of each of its subjects – a curated collection of leading artists, musicians, writers, scientists, restaurateurs, DJs, developers, activists, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, and more, all of whom are defining and driving culture in Seattle.”

This will be a fascinating look into one extremely well-tuned-in person’s view of who is making things happen in this town…Not to be missed! You can see Chase’s work October 22nd and 23rd 11am-6pm at The Exhibition, 234 Dexter Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109. That is also the weekend of the City Arts Festival, featuring a huge selection of music events all over the city!
