Lovework

Looking forward to catching Teodros at the Showbox with Talib Kweli. Killer lineup. Lovework's been on heavy rotation at home. Nice beats and positive lyrics. Pick it up!

Not Boring

Not sure what to say about this show. I've never seen anything like it. It was totally riveting. If you didn't go, you probably missed your only chance to see a quartet made up of 3 drum kits and giant home-made electric dulcimer.

The drummers were insanely tight and complex. The "dulcimer" thing was actually eight electric guitars rather crudely bolted together. The singer would mostly beat on it with a big pipe. He had a full time guitar tech on stage who would lovingly tune the thing up and stick bridges under the strings to make new chords. Then the lead guy would come over and hit it with a pipe and all the strings would go "sproing!"

Genius.

Rump shaker

This was one of the better shows I seen in Seattle. The music was amazing. Lusine killed it. Bassnectar came out turned everything up to 11. I was sore for two days from all the dancing. I want more!

I have to give props to the Neumo's crew for getting their PA system dialed in. I've been to many a lackluster show at Neumo's due primarily to awful sound. Even after they upgraded to their new Funktion One sound system, they continued to suck. Finally, someone who knows how to make that thing work got behind the mixing board. Keep it up!

genius...

I can't say enough good things about this show. Totally surreal, fiercely inventive, excellent stage design and quirky, nuanced acting. What other theater shows have you been to where they handed you a cold Budweiser on the way in and then proceeded to blast you with heavy metal, buckets of ping pong balls, weather reports and ~50 battery powered talking fish roaming around on stage?
