sooooooo gooooooood! and i'm not even that big of a crumb fan. whoever curated this did a great job - tons of amazing original art. freakin awesome to see it full-size and up close.

i waffled for the longest time on whether to come to this lecture: wtf marjane, in 2004 i saw you FOR FREE at the u bookstore, why you puttin' on $25 airs now that your comic book is a big fancy movie? but of course i surrendered to the inevitable and bought a ticket* and i'm happy to say it was totally worth it. fun, honest, heartfelt speaker and a thoughtful and (for once) non-squirm-inducing Q&A session.

adios. sad to see it go, even though its calendar for the past few years had been pretty bad. seems like they lost most of their bookings to clubs that i really, really don't like as much (neumos, chop suey, showbox).
