Way better than expected

Given that the movie version of this play, with Uma Thurman as Sissy and Pat Morita as the Chink was a debacle (Pat Morita???), I was skeptical of this stage production. Is Cowgirls even possible to adapt? Yet Book-It rarely fails to entertain, even with difficult material, so I took a chance. Way better than I expected, although I will also admit that if not for the exceptional supporting music by Jo MIller and Barbara Lamb, the slower, less successful moments of the play might have been a little tougher to sustain.

The production is relatively true to the book, which means it occasionally suffers from a story that now seems a little dated to me. Still, I was entertained, and even a little motivated to pick up the book again to see how it reads 25 or so years after I last read it.

This is not to be missed. The puppet show everyone has been waiting for.

A couple of dead bodies, which you laugh at. Not one, but two idiots, and a couple of fools. A very angry John Malkovich. Everyone is slightly off in some way, so if you identify with anyone you might want to seek professional help. Not one of their best, but still thoroughly enjoyable.

Two Loons for Tea

Two Loons for Tea is one of my go-to iPod choices, and their sound is even better in person. Always an enjoyable evening.

Definitely going to try to be there. I like her sound.

Dancing ability aside, if she actually dances at this event I will make a donation to her re-election campaign.

I like Camille's music. Blends a lot of influences and styles into her own edgy mix.

This is a pretty good Italian restaurant in Fremont. Listening to chamber music while dining there could make it even better.

I would pay to see George Lopez and Carlos Mencia in a fistfight over who stole whose joke.

I remember getting forced into seeing the Sex and the City series on HBO. To be honest, got sucked into it just like everyone else and have seen every episode. I liked the Cynthia Nixon character, Miranda Hobbes the best.

How is it possible that I've never seen Tennessee William's A Streetcar Named Desire. Not the film with Marlon Brando, or the play. So this would be a great chance to see it.
