Georgetown is the place to be!
I always end up having a surprisingly good time in our bricked neighbor to the south- there is a much lower density of hipsters and tourists. This should be a good jazz show!

Roseland Theatre
The Roseland is a true Portland icon, yeah, but the staff here are way to jumpy and aggressive- come on, it's Portland not Detroit! The pat-downs, the lines, the gruff militancy- it just sucks. I only still buy tickets to the Roseland Theatre because of the big names they pull in.

Le Peloton me fait folle
Mais j'aime beaucoup boire de la champagne pendant le peloton comme Lance!
And something tells me there will be plenty of champagne and celebration at the Decibel Festival! I am looking forward to this showcase-mmm, aggressive...

Maybe a good idea would be to drive up to Woodinville, hit a couple of wineries and maybe Redhook Brewery, then pop over to Lowe's Theater for a flic? Sounds Saturday-tastic!

This is the best Lowe's movie theatre in Seattle for one reason- free parking! And an IHOP next door for a rooti tooti fresh and fruity breakfast!

YUP those hipsters are everywhere!
The streets of Seattle are not safe! Fear not dear partyers, you can always identify said hipsters by:
tight pants, usually black, on girls and guys the look of being too cool to care- nothing is worth getting excited or smiling about hair dye, often purple they kind of look like emo kids except no arm scars *general pissed-off attitude and disdain for Seattle (um, so like, move away)
They are repelled by positive energy- like vampires and garlic.

Food Fight Comedy Night
I Always Wanted to be in a Food Fight
Just like the ones from the high school movies, a flipping free-for-all where mashed potatoes are flying through the air and peas are hurled frantically.
Looks like this is Denver's answer to all the sad saps like me who never got to throw a handful of meatloaf or melon. sigh

LOOPTID
Isn't Looptid the word that Humpty-Hump made up in his song, the "Humpty Dance?" Anyone, anyone?

AudioDayDream
The cover for Blake Lewis' new album Audio Day Dream makes me want to put on a space suit and fly off into the comsos in a silver and purple rocket; the beat-boxing soundtrack kicks in right as we hit ludicrous speed.

Baltic Room, R.I.P. Oh the club just east of Interstate 5 is still open, still bumping beats out onto Pine Street; however the newly revamped stomp room seems to think it is on Bell, or maybe 2nd Avenue, but definitely NOT Capitol Hill. The new manager, obvious each night in a different spiffy suit, has tried to spruce up the decor and make the mangy Baltic a bit more chi-chi, but it falls WAY short of the mark, like an aging hooker in a new dress from Target. In attempting to appeal to the downtown crowd which is now creeping up the Pike-Pine corridor in their heels and designer shirts, the new Baltic room forgets that the Capitol Hill peeps LIKE their aging hookers just the way they are: run-down, tatty, sweaty, and a little bit smelly. The New Baltic has the predictable plastic sheen of any new crappy club; offensive in itself but even more so when plastered on top of the soul of an old dive dance bar. R.I.P.

Vito's MADE the Night
Tuesdays are coming up in the city, along with the summer, and you now have a delicious variety of shows to choose from, just like a cool summer platter of antipasto!
MADE is one of the better choices for your evening; some of the best Techno in Seattle goes down real nice-like with vodka-sodas in the red-soaked lounge which feels like it DEFINITELY has a back room and a back door. Just in case.
The crowd is cut from Grade A Seattle cloth; I adore going out every Tuesday because the kids out are all the real music lovers, the crazed dancers, the night owls who can't get enough of wandering around the streets, beats, and treats. You know what I mean- the real people.

Actually I have seen the Roots, three times, but it was in college ten years ago so I guess for some unexplainable reason I can't quite remember...I must have had business calculus on my brain.
So it will be just like new when I get to jam at Neumos Thursday night!
