DESCRIPTION:Now in our 27th year\, America's Largest Christmas Bazaar has b
een the best holiday tradition in the Portland area for gift giving\, inclu
ding both handcrafted and carefully selected commercial merchandise. Our at
tendance in 2007 was 30\,000 during the six days of the show (two three-day
weekends). We always have a great feature to draw both attendees and the m
edia.Welcome to America’s LargestChristmas Bazaar! This colorful holiday ev
ent has beenproduced by the same small local company for 27 years. With inn
ovation and creativity\, the show has kept pace with today’s consumers thr
oughout its history\, offering a great opportunity to buy unique gifts in a
ll price ranges. Since 1982\, the population of the Portland/Vancouver area
has considered the Christmas Bazaar to be both a holiday tradition and a g
reat resource for shopping for the holidays. If you are a prospective exhib
itor\, we invite you to look at the Exhibitor page for more information on
booth fees\, attendance and on the ease of participating in the show.Exhibi
tor InformationIn 2008\, the Bazaar drew an audited 30\,000 in paid attenda
nce. This is not the number of people who went through the turnstiles\, the
se are paid admissions. Our extensive advertising budget\, spent by an agen
cy that has worked on this show from the very first day\, maintains this le
vel with creativity and by making the best deals out there. And\, as an eld
er statesman\, the Christmas Bazaar also has in incredible mailing list\, w
hich we spend a lot of time and energy keeping clean and current. While reta
ining a large number of exhibitors from year to year\, America’s Largest C
hristmas Bazaar is always looking for exhibitors that offer interesting and
unique products not typically offered at shopping malls and fairs. Our aud
ience enjoys both commercial and juried handcrafted products\, which co-exi
st very well and round out the shopping experience. Of the 900 booths at th
 e show\, 300 handcrafted booths are located in Artisan’s Alley\, two centr
ally located areas in Halls D & E. Both of these areas have black pipe & dr
ape rather than the red and green that we use in the rest of the show. Craf
ters are offered reduced booth fees provided they qualify. Qualifications a
re simple: everything in the booth must be handcrafted by you with a photo
of your finished product and one of you creating it. Thanks to the digital
age\, this can be as simple as sending a photo via email. For commercial pro
ducts\, we structure the show to as not to have too many of any one item. A
s an example\, by six weeks before the show\, we are typically filled up on
such things as jewelry and skin care products. For identical commercial pr
oducts\, we allow one per hall\, so please check to be sure that yours is n
ot already present at the show.Because last years exhibitors have until Sep
tember 7th\, 2009 to sign up\, we won’t know for sure if your company/cate
gory is already covered until after that date. We also won’t know about lo
cation availability until after September 7th\, but we advise that you send
a note with your contract if you have any preferences and we’ll do our be
st. The cover letter explaining those things and more is available by click

s for booth rent payment. This is something we have done since the beginnin
g and it works well. If that is your method of payment\, you can date your
check for November 2nd\, 2009. We also accept credit cards and checks with
a current date. **Hours: Fridays and Saturdays 10-6\, Sundays 10-5**

DESCRIPTION:The You Name It Show: Painting By Gary Hirsch\, Where You Name
 The Art.
\n
\nPortland\, OR – Oct. 30\, 2009 – Gary Hirsch\, the artist
best know for his Portland public art work “Upstream Downtown” (18 col

n downtown Portland)\, debuts a new series of paintings for his solo exhib
ition at Galley Paradiso\, 417 NW 10th\, Portland\, in The Pearl for the mo
 nth of December.
\n
\n The Exhibition\, ”YOU NAME IT” features 20 yet t

as been displaying the pieces on-line and accepting title submissions from
friends and strangers alike. All of these titles will be displayed with his
new work at Gallery Paradiso. In addition\, gallery visitors can add their
own title ideas to the exhibition\, which will be on display throughout th
e months of December and January.
\n
\n Hirsch says\, “I love it when kid
s visit my studio and make up wild and incredible stories about the pieces
 I am making. They see narrative\, characters\, and worlds that I hadn’t e
ven thought of. If I hold back on my intended title my audience will often
fill it in for themselves and together we co-create a brand new story. In t
his show I am making incomplete stories and inviting the audience to fill i
 n the rest for themselves.”
\n
\n The on-line response has been overwhelm
ing. The first painting (pictured above) was first displayed on Hirsch’s
Facebook page with an invitation for others to fill in the title. “I had
over 50 titles in the first 3 hours”\, Hirsch says. The list was extensiv
e with titles such as “Sanka?”\, “Tough Tip”\, and “Super Model
Breakfast”. Hirsch exclaims ‘It was great\; each new title took me off
on a completely new story. I just started the process and the audience did
  the rest”
\n
\n Have your own title ideas instantly displayed at Hirsc
