We've all got our Woody Allen of choice. Whether it be the poignant black and white beauty of Manhattan or the side splitting wit of Deconstructing Harry, the Brooklyn born filmmaker always seems to come through with something worth an hour and a half of your time. (ok, almost always) With Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Allen continues his overseas stint selecting Barcelona as the scene of the action. The distressingly romantic Spanish city becomes an additional character in the film, as we find Allen making use of the delicious Mediterranean light to meditate on the usual themes: love, art, jealousy and everything that falls in between. Penelope Cruz delivers one of her finest performances to date as Javier Bardem's character's endearingly deranged ex-wife. Not to be missed.

No Woody Allen for me!

I can't stand his blathering, befuddled, what-to-do?, mousey, stupid idiot schtick, in any movie. Ever. Never. I have tried, many times, like with pate- everyone says its great with critical acclaim, but I just cannot stomach the disgusting liver taste. Or the pate.
