About This Movie
After being forced to leave Marshall College under dubious circumstances, Indy joins forces with rebellious, young Mutt, who believes he knows the whereabouts of one of the most spectacular archeological finds in history--the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear. But, as Indy and Mutt set out for the most remote corners of Peru--a land of ancient tombs, forgotten explorers and a rumored city of gold--they quickly realize they are not alone in their search. Soviet agents are also hot on the trail of the Crystal Skull. Chief among them is icy cold, devastatingly beautiful Irina Spalko, whose elite military unit is scouring the globe for the eerie Crystal Skull, which they believe can help the Soviets dominate the world--if they can unlock its secrets. Indy and Mutt must find a way to evade the ruthless Soviets, follow an impenetrable trail of mystery, grapple with enemies and friends of questionable motives, and, above all, stop the powerful Crystal Skull from falling into the deadliest of hands.

Crystal Skull has the extreme hoke factor going on!!
As for someone who has always liked the Indiana Jones movies, I was extremely disappointed the fourth series. It has not surprised me to hear the same even to the point of anger from some of my co-workers, family and friends. While sitting in the theatre with my fiancé and family, a guy next to us is laughing at times, extremely hard – we keep looking at him, trying to find out why???? He looks at us and tells us because the movie is so bad, he is laughing at the absurdity. Crystal Skull is asking too much of the audience by wanting us to go along with the “cheesy factor” and insulting our intelligence.
There are a couple of things that do work, surprisingly in the movie~ that 65 year old Harrison Ford as Indy (I honestly did not think it would work, but it did); the second is bringing back Karen Allen who was definitely the favorite “Indy” girl of fans and okay, there is a third, Lucas and Spielberg were brilliant in bringing Shia Laboef to entice the kids of the “older” Indy fans to want to see the movie.
In the end, if you are willing to see the movie and have nothing else to do, it is amusing, but it did not shine as all thought it would.

Just another way George Lucas is ruining our lives
I honestly enjoyed this movie a little. Well, at least I didn't fall asleep, not quite. But I didn't realize how bad it was until I went back and watched the old ones. Nothing was as good, the dialogue, the action, not even the music. Now, I've been a fan of Indiana Jones since I watched them with my dad when I was 8 or so. However, I wasn't expecting much from a sequel this late in the game, especially one with Hollywood pretty boy Shia LaBeouf coming in to muck things up (I've had a deep seeded loathing for him ever since I accidentally went to see Disturbia with some ditzy friends).
I was also worried, along with the rest of the nation, that Harrison Ford was just a little too old to play his old role. Unfortunately his acting and the way he was portrayed ended up being one of the only aspects I liked about the film.
Oh well, I guess considering the fact that Lucas originally wanted to call it "Indiana Jones and the Saucer Men From Mars" and ended up writing it with the writer of Rush Hour 2 and 3 it's amazing it turned out as well as it did.
