"The Incredible Hulk" kicks off an all-new, explosive and action-packed epic of one of the most popular Super Heroes of all time. In this new beginning, scientist Bruce Banner desperately hunts for a cure to the gamma radiation that poisoned his cells and unleashes the unbridled force of rage within him: The Hulk. Living in the shadows--cut off from a life he knew and the woman he loves, Betty Ross--Banner struggles to avoid the obsessive pursuit of his nemesis, General Thunderbolt Ross, and the military machinery that seeks to capture him and brutally exploit his power. As all three grapple with the secrets that led to The Hulk's creation, they are confronted with a monstrous new adversary known as The Abomination, whose destructive strength exceeds even The Hulk's own. And on June 13, one scientist must make an agonizing final choice: accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or find heroism in the creature he holds inside--The Incredible Hulk?

Bruce Banner slowly learns how to control his monstrous alter-ego, harness his rage, recognize his ex, and most importantly... says his first words! "HULK SMASH!!!" Epic fight scenes and a minimum of corny love scenes combine to make this sequel better than it's predecessor!

A Technical Coup
If this latest version of The Incredible Hulk were a producer's final project for Advanced Moviemaking 101, the grade would be A+. From the opening titles to the chaotic special effects finale, every aspect is accomplished with loving success. The detail that really made the film for me was the tender humanity that the CGI people managed to capture in the Hulk's greenish face and eyes--you even wonder for a moment if somehow they found a real guy with an oversized face, to play those moments. Liv Tyler makes the romance come alive on her part; it honestly IS sad that her true love can't be with her on a permanent basis. I'd also give special kudos for the cinematography: the chase on foot through the backalleys of Rio is better than a travel show.
And most importantly, all these details work together in a skillfully woven narrative.
