Philly Pride Presents is a Philadelphia-based group of volunteer coordinators which organize “PrideDay” in June, “OutFest” in October, two events during which the Philadelphia Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community joins together and celebrates as a whole. The purpose of the organizers’ pride events is the advancement of LGBT rights through the visibility and awareness.

OutFest, the group’s annual October event, is happening on the 10th from noon to 7 p.m. “in the heart of the Gayborhood”. For those who may not know, it mainly encompasses the intersections of 12th, 13th, and Locust in Center City Philadelphia. “Pride Central” is located at 12th and Locust.

There are numerous vendors and sponsors for the event, as well as several entertainment acts, including emcee Henri David, Steve Andrade, Miss Phily Gay Pride 2010 “Alexis Carter”, Finesse Ross, Skyanna Blue, Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars, and many more. Some of the corporate sponsors include 12st Street Gym, Absolut, Bikestop, Harrah’s Chester Casino, IHOP, Miller Beer, Mini Cooper of the Mainline, Q Lounge, and Wachovia, along with several others.

Don’t forget some of the great events lined up, including the high heel race and the male anatomy shaped bagel eating contest. There will also be a dance area with music throughout the day (that’s located at 12th and Spruce).

Philly Pride Presents has a map outlining the location of all the events, and you can find it here. Visit for more information.
