Philadelphia’s Winter Beer Festival is Coming to the Navy Yard November 14th and 15th
Because of the cold weather and potential snow, you might not be looking forward to the Winter season. Especially during the dog days that normally fall upon Philadelphia! But your probably looking forward to drinking some Corsendonk Christmas Ale, and a lot of the winter brews that some of the top microbrews. And for that The Winter Beer Festival at the Navy Yard has your hook up!
This Beer festival is dedicated to bringing the very best of all the spiced ales and winter warming barleywine styles under one roof. They will have 50 or more breweries that will be serving their seasonal brew and a second beer of their choice. Many beers never before seen in Philadelphia too.There will be a good selection of cask conditioned ales, gravity drawn firkins and imperial ales.This is an indoor event with heat and coat check. With a separated covered smoking area attached.
There will also be a special Cooking with beer demonstration by the executive chef of Cuba Libre, Robert Legget. You will also be able to learn during the History of beer and breweries presentations by beer historian, Rich Wagner. and there will be Beer making classes provided by Barry’s Homebrew Outlet.
Some of the vendors on hand include the likes of local breweries like Philadelphia Brewing Co., Dock Street, and Weyerbacher. There will also be brewers like the makers of La Fin Du Monde, Unibroue; Akron, Ohio’s Hoppin’ Frog; and Vermont’s Harpoon Brewery, who will be showcasing their Winter Warmer. There will be two 4 hour flights on Saturday, and two flights on Sunday. General Admission tickets cost $45 before the day of the event, and $55 the day of. V.I.P. tickets cost $75 the day of the event, and $90 the day of.
