NY Philharmonic Presents Free Concerts In The Parks

2009_parksbannerThe Great Lawn in Central Park is home to some incredible events, but most pale in comparison to the awesomeness that is starting today, July 14th, and continuing through July 17th. For the 45th year in a  row, Concerts in the Parks will be presenting a program of free and fun classical concerts.

Every 8pm on these days, the New York Philharmonic will present a great and free concert for your pleasure in a different borough! Get there early with a picnic basket and enjoy some amazing music with your friends, family, or just on your own if you prefer. On the days between the first and last concert, you can catch these amazing performances in Brooklyn or the Bronx.

The program is as follows:

Tuesday, July 14th at 8pm on the Great Lawn in Central Park
Program:
Mozart: Symphony No. 41, Jupiter
Beethoven: Symphony No. 7
Conducted by Alan Gilbert, concert followed by fireworks.

Wednesday, July 15th at 8pm at Long Meadow Ballfields in Prospect Park (Brooklyn)
Program:
Mozart: Symphony No. 41, Jupiter
Beethoven: Symphony No. 7
Conducted by Alan Gilbert

Thursday, July 16th at 8pm in Van Cortland Park (Bronx)
Program:
Mozart: Symphony No. 41, Jupiter
Mahler: Symphony No. 1
Conducted by Alan Gilbert

Friday, July 17th at 8pm on the Great Lawn in Central Park

Copland: Old American Songs (Set 2)
