Nirvana and Pink Floyd Vinyl Deals on Black Friday as Record Store Day 2011 Returns

If you thought Record Store Day came but once a year, then think again. This festive season there’s plenty of reason to be merry, as Record Store Day will be releasing a wave of new limited vinyl deals for Black Friday, making your local independent record store a must-visit destination on the busiest shopping day of the year.

Nevermind - The Singles.

As always, there are far too many offers to list them all here, but a number of highlights stand out. Nirvana fans will want to get their hands on Nevermind – The Singles, a 10″ box set of the singles released from the classic album (this release will be limited to 5000 copies, so if you see one – buy it!). Pink Floyd will release a similar box set of singles from seminal album The Wall (limited to 7500 copies in the US), and John Lennon’s Imagine will also get the limited-edition treatment, as a 40th anniversary box set limited to 5000 copies in the US.

There are also plenty of single releases from contemporary artists, including a ‘Do I Wait’/'Darkness’ 7″ from Ryan Adams (3000 copies), a ‘Lonely Boy’ 12″ from The Black Keys, a ‘Morning Becomes Eclectic’ 12″ from Iron & Wine (3000 copies) and a ‘Speak Into The Rose’ 10″ from Wilco. You can find the full list of Record Store Day Black Friday releases here.

Remember that not all record stores will stock all titles, so you may have to shop around – and if you see something you want, I’d advise that you buy it! You can find a list of participating stores here. With Christmas on the horizon, you can always gift it to the vinyl-lover in your life…
