New Monthly Steampunk Event at Dorian’s Parlor in Philadelphia

Philadelphia fans of all things Victorian will surely be happy to learn of a new monthly steampunk event at Dorian’s Parlor, which is within the Doubletree of Center City hotel. According to the organizers, the Dorian’s Parlor events “will feature live performances by bands, dancers and countless other talented artists.” Patrons are encouraged to dress accordingly in their finest neo-Victorian, steampunk, Dandy, or black-tie attire.

The first such event is June 12, 2010, from 8 p.m. – midnight. It will feature Lyndsay Faye, Psyche Corp, and GD Falksen, with a fashion show by KVO Designs, Mayfaire Moon, HEARTLESS REVIVAL and Artificial Intrigue. Entry is $20, and includes a drink ticket and Hors D’oeuvres. This event is 21+ only. Door prizes are being provided by sweetlibertine.com and Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs.

There is discounted parking in the Doubletree of Center City’s garage (it is cash only). Hotel rooms are $139 a night.
