Mark Buehrle Day in Illinois

0 31

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has declared today, July 30, 2009, Mark Buehrle Day to honor the White Sox pitcher’s perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays last week.

Mark Buehrle’s perfect game is only the 18th thrown in Major League history! Not only will the whole state be celebrating Mark Buehrle Day today, but the White Sox are also planning festivities for the “Buehrle Appreciate Series” against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at U.S. Cellular Field next week (August 4-6).

This special commemorative series offers discount tickets: $9 Upper Reserved seats (originally $23) for the nine perfect innings for all three games, and Lower Reserved and Bleacher seats will be available for $27 for the 27 batters he retired against Tampa Bay (originally $38 and $37, respectively).

It’s a perfect time to be part of something special and catch a baseball game on the cheap!
