Artist and Oscar and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Carole Bayer Sager will debut her new collection of lyrical, abstract paintings at her first ever solo show opening January 14, hosted at the LA Art House, 8225 Beverly Blvd. West Hollywood.
“Generations: New Paintings by Carole Bayer Sager” marks the artist\’s return to her original love of abstract work in an exploration of color, texture and light.
“Painting and songwriting have many similarities for me,†Sager said in a statement.  “Both are intuitive and expressive and, just as in songwriting, it is rewarding when your painting touches another person.â€
Known best as a songwriter, Sager\’s passion for art began as a hobby in 2006 and and developed from there into her main form of expression now. Â In 2009, she completed “Power Chairs,” a series of portraits of some of her closest friends in their favorite chairs. Â With a talent expanding beyond portraits, Carole\’s abstract work embraces several mediums including photography and oil painting.
“Generations” Â will be featured at the LA Art House through Saturday, February 12. Â Modeled on the 19th century French idea of the salon, the LA Art House was developed from a unique vision shared by Margaret Perenchio and Ann Moss. Â The gallery both showcases contemporary art and also supports new talent by donating 100% of its profits to the Hammer Museum in support of Hammer Projects, an international exhibition forum for emerging artists around the globe.
