It’s time again for the Philly Improv Theater’s run of shows at the Shubin Theater! PHIT has been on fire recently as they just crushed their fundraising goal with five days remaining (and you can still donate by visiting their Kickstarter page)! This is a very promising start for the ambitious $50,000 goal they have set and a great step towards opening their own space and having shows every day of the week. In the meantime, PHIT is still producing fantastic improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy shows at the lovely Shubin Theater. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:
Wednesday, June 30th, 8pm – The Bully Pulpit
Local comedian Luke Giordano hosts this podcast/live comedy panel talk show. Four stand-up, sketch, and improv comedians gather on stage to discuss and debate a wide varray of topics with hilarious results! Admission is $10.
Thursday, July 1st, 8pm – M@& and Friends
You can read all about this show in an article I wrote last week. Matt Holmes performs a completely improvised show with an unsuspecting audience member. This show will also feature another improv group and it all costs just $10!
Thursday, July 1st, 9:30pm – Angry People Building Things and Friends

The Moops are PHIT’s supergroup of long-form improv comedy. They collect the most experienced improvisers in the city to perform the Armando, the same form as the insanely popular ASSSSCAT show at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City. A monologist tells true stories that inspire completely improvised scenes that will never be seen again. Admission is $10.
