Kenny Rogers' country music transcends genre lines; sure he's collaborated with Dolly Parton but also with Lionel Richie and Wyclef Jean as well. Now anytime you mix hip-hop and country western you get a new species, an animal with the cool charm of the cowboy and the hard tags of the gangsta. I admit it; I don't like country music so much despite a childhood spent on Texas farms (how did THAT happen?) but when I make such a declaration (often), I always qualify it with "except for hard-core old school country western like Willie and Merle and Kenny." So I guess you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't...yeah, we all know how it goes. Kenny Rogers rocks, that's how it goes.
