The RAWSTOCK Film Fest was launched in 2004 as a showcase for raw, irreverent local filmmakers. Conceived by Seattle natives William Russell and Justin Freet as a reaction to the dearth of attention given local indie fimmakers and their films, RAWSTOCK also acted as a carrot for these fimmakers to complete their projects in the first place. Both Mr. Russell and Mr. Freet have a strong aversion to navel gazing and heavy-handed drama, preferring instead to focus on irreverent animation politically incorrect comedy and grindhouse style exploitation. Now in it’s fifth year RAWSTOCK has grown to encompass movies, music and comedy from coast to coast.
