Playing French Seattle 2008: José Pliya's Les Effracteurs

Steeplechase Productions, together with Playing French Seattle (a registered student organization of the University of Washington) announces the 2008 festival of plays performed in French (with English super-titles). The festival will be held from October 20 to November 2 at the Ethnic Cultural Theatre in North Seattle. This year the focus is on plays by Benin born playwright José Pliya, who will attend the closing weekend.

“Les Effracteurs” (bouffonnerie criminelle) directed by David Garfinkle: Two burglars enter a house only to encounter two other burglars. A surrealistic spoof on crime, love, territory. US premiere. This play was staged at the Comédie Française in 2004.
