Green Pathways Out Of Poverty
FEATURING: Van Jones, President, Green for All ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Van Jones, a civil rights lawyer, is leading the national Green for All initiative and will share how we can overcome the challenge of the climate crisis while engaging the creativity and power of everyone. Working for both equal protection from the perils of climate change and equal access to the promise of the emerging green economy, Green for All provides hope to lift all people and pathways out of poverty by ensuring that low-income and minority youth have access to the coming wave of "green-collar" jobs – things like solar-panel installation, retrofitting buildings that are leaking energy, wastewater reclamation, organic food, materials reuse and recycling. As an advocate for the toughest urban constituencies and causes, Van has won many honors. These include the 1998 Reebok International Human Rights Award, the international Ashoka Fellowship, selection as a World Economic Forum “Young Global Leader," and the Rockefeller Foundation “Next Generation Leadership" Fellowship.
