Sunday in the Park with George

"Stop worrying where you're going/Move on..." The 5th Avenue's ongoing homage to Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim is this imaginative portrait of the French painter Georges Seurat. Performed with a chamber orchestra and starring Broadway's Hugh Panero and Seattle's Billie Wildrick, the show is not deeply engaging emotionally but inventive and intruiging nonetheless, as it probes the creative process of two artists, a century apart.
