dB Festival 2008: DJ Lounge: Sweatbox/Knight Riders

A mad wave of techno-love has hit Seattle recently and riding the crest of the firestorm at the helm of the ship are the music collectives Knight Riders and Sweatbox, feeding the beat-hungry souls night after night with dance riots and unrelenting bass lines. Joining together not only with each other but with numerous promoters, producers, and DJs from various groups around the city, the boys have managed to create one community from a disparate selection of serious music freaks, all in it together for and because of the insidious and addictive love of techno.

Ctrl-Alt-Dlt (whose style is known on the streets here as Techno Sex) is THE name on everyone’s tongues and the beats in everyone’s brains, banging out parties left and right and bringing previously normal people into the dark, dangerous, and beautiful world of techno. Along with the bangin’ ridiculousness of cohorts Dr. Mr. M., Travis Baron, and pantycontrol, the delicious techno surge will continue to dominate Seattle with ongoing Tuesday nights parties (MADE at Vito’s) as well as the upcoming Battle of the Mega-Mixes in October. If you like your techno with a little bit of Detroit dirt then you will no doubt want to be on the dance floor at the Knight Riders and Sweatbox DJ lounge, fair warning however: these guys are serious.
