The Kooks
The Kooks (named for the song appearing on David Bowie's 'Hunky Dory') met while attending Brighton Music College in the mid-2000s. Each shared a liking for the Police, the Strokes, the Everly Brothers, and Funkadelic, thus forming the sweet and precocious sounds they have made. Before the end of 2005, the band's 'You Don't Love Me' gave the band its first ever Top 20 hit. Their debut full-length is 'Inside In/Inside Out.'

Absolutely
I saw these guys last month at the Wonder Ballroom and, just as I'd expected, they blew my mind! They're a pretty young band yet and I predict they will only improve as they get older. I've been a fan for a couple years now and was impressed at how fantastic they sound live. Even amid some major technical difficulties they covered magnificently and managed to pull off an excellent show. They're an upbeat, indie/punk band with plenty of that good old fashioned English angst to go 'round! They feel that music should make you happy, and theirs does just that. Don't forget to check out their new album Konk!
