The International Fest of Cinema and Technology (IFCT) announces an upcoming film festival event at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle, Washington on July 5th and 6th. This festival will screen short films from filmmakers around the world. The Northwest Film Forum is located at 1515 12th Ave in Seattle. Festival projects include short comedies, dramas, animations, experimental films, and documentaries and are from independent filmmakers from a variety of countries. Tickets are $6 and $3 for students, and available at the door or http://www.ifct.org/seattle.html
IFCT is giving away 6 pairs of free tickets to CultureMob readers. These tickets are good for any of the screenings over the weekend. NEED more venues to create and exhibit tomorrow's films
We are nearing the impact on film that we want-NY and LA will always best us and we are too diffuse yet. We need to: 1. Get more venues. Even small spaces can have a big impact-new exciting talent and long involved stage, screen and film B and C list can transcend obscurity and rocket up-ala Travolta. and 2. We can and must ally and develop a district-say Georgetown, South Park or near Southcenter full of studios, with anciliary services, labs, props, locations and such for new and established film companies to use and create the films of the future.
