Urban Art Festival
The Urban Art Festival is an all ages celebration of music, DJs, performance art fashion hand crafted goods, and alternative conscious ways of living. While showcasing some of the best pacific NW talents, the UAF is a wonderful opportunity for emerging artists and performers. Consider the Urban Art Festival your outlet for artistic desires. It's not uncommon to see a glassblower or graffiti artists creating live at the UAF, or a fashion show with a local live band.
Enjoy two DJ stages, a beer garden, handmade goods, food vendors, live glassblowing, and plenty of artistic and musical talent including Flowmotion, Sister Monk, LIttle Big Man, James Whiton and the Downtown Apostles, Don't Tell Sophie, Can-U with DJ Reign, and much, much more!

What Summer is All About!
The Urban Art Festival is going to be a fantastic afternoon of art, music, food, and fun- what summer is all about. I am really looking forward to this Sunday and hope that everyone turns out to check out the bands, DJs, craftspeople and of course, the beergarden!

Flowmotion Rocks the Box
I showed up Saturday night at the Showbox a little worn out from my early start on the weekend, thinking I would have an easy, jammy, laid-back night to relax and enjoy a mellow performance. Boy, was I wrong. The Flowmotion boys cranked up the venue, lit it on fire, and by the end of their set the whole floor of the Showbox was bouncing, arms waving, with open-mouthed smiles everywhere. The dueling nature of the band (two drumsets, two guitars) sets up for a playful competition between band members to see who can jam the most, and I don't know who liked it more, the musicians or the crowd. Flowmotion straight rocked the big performance hall and put on one of their most energetic, ramped up shows ever. Judging by the size of the crowd which filled the floor of the Showbox, the 8th Annual Summer Meltdown Festival is sure to go off; get your tickets soon and also check out the newly released live recording of the 2007 Summer Meltdown, available now.
