Robert McNown: Works on Paper

Robert McNown began his ink on paper pieces in 2002 by filling in the cells of graph paper with the impressions of small rubber stamps. The work became more complex with the additions of increased scale and colored inks and as McNown moved toward more dynamic compositions by cutting and reassembling the paper support. This work was featured in a solo show in February 2004. The current show includes the final pieces from the series, many even larger and more intricately patterned than before.
