Diamond Nationals World Karate Championship: Season Finale of NASKA, the Premier Open Martial Arts Tournament Circuit

Entering its 33rd year, the Diamond Nationals World Karate Tournament will be held on October 8-9, 2010 at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel (7800 Normandale Blvd, Bloomington, Minnesota 55439).  The star of the premier open martial arts tournament circuit—North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA)—is the Diamond Nationals, which marks the season\’s final tournament for the 2010 year.  Organized by JLB Productions, the Diamond Nationals is truly an elite tournament where the nation\’s best open martial artists gather and compete.  Extremely well-run with top-quality judging, professionalism, and timeliness, the Diamond Nationals was voted “Best Tournament in the World” by Black Belt Magazine and numerous other publications.

Open martial arts tournaments feature various styles of martial arts, including Tae Kwon Do/Tang Soo Do, Kenpo/Karate, Kung Fu, Contemporary Wushu, and Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan).  In NASKA tournaments such as the Diamond Nationals, there are divisions for traditional forms (Corean, Okinawan/Japanese, and Chinese divisions) and contemporary forms (creative, musical, and extreme divisions).  Forms (open-hand and weapons) and sparring will be offered for individual competitors, as well as pairs and teams.  The Diamond Nationals will feature all of these divisions, as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling competition, Super Fights, martial arts seminars, and the Saturday night Diamond Finals featuring Black Belt division winners from Friday evening and Saturday competition.

    Good tournament, although trophys in 2011 1st place were made out of wood, and 2nd + 3rd were made out of marble. Whats up with that?
