Each December, Carlinville's historic downtown comes alive with the sights and sounds of the holidays. Come enjoy a weekend packed with strolling musicians, carolers, holiday lights and heated tents full of fine arts, crafts and holiday treats. This event is sponsored in part by The Carlinville Community Chamber of Commerce and the City of CarlinvilleThousands of visitors from throughout the United States complete their Christmas shopping in local shops and boutiques. In addition, huge tents fill the downtown streets with fine arts, and handmade crafts of all kinds.Visitors are enticed into the food tent with the aroma of everything from a 5-course steak dinner to roasted almonds, caramel and fudge. A seating area is available for those wishing to take a rest from shopping to enjoy the tasty treats.
