Video Games Live is Touring the World
Video Games Live™ is an immersive concert event featuring music from the most popular video games of all time. Top orchestras and choirs perform along with exclusive video footage and music arrangements, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussionists, live action and unique interactive segments to create an explosive entertainment experience!
This is a concert event put on by the video game industry to help encourage and support the culture and art that video games have become. Video Games Live™ bridges a gap for entertainment by exposing new generations of music lovers and fans to the symphonic orchestral experience while also providing a completely new and unique experience for families and/or non-gamers. The show is heralded and enjoyed by the entire family. It’s the power and emotion of a symphony orchestra mixed with the excitement and energy of a rock concert and the technology and interactivity of a video game all completely synchronized to amazing cutting edge video screen visuals, state-of-the-art lighting and special on-stage interactive segments with the audience.
Video Games Live quickly became the biggest and most popular game concert in the world. The debut performance was launched on July 6th, 2005 at the world famous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with the LA Philharmonic. Over 11,000 people attended making it the biggest video game concert in the world. Most of the game music played had never been performed live. On October 30, 2005 they broke new ground once again by putting on the very first video game concert in Canada (Vancouver). They followed with groundbreaking first ever game concert performances in countries such as England, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, France, Taiwan and China. Video Games Live was also the very first American video game concert to perform in Asia (Korea). In 2007 they were recipients of a major industry award in Brazil for “Special Breakthrough Achievement” following their performances in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo the year before. On October 22, 2007 Video Games Live was the FIRST and ONLY show to sell out the Royal Festival Hall (Philharmonia Orchestra) since the refurbishment earlier in the year.
Whether your an old time video gamer who has grown up on the likes of Super Mario Bros. and The Legend Of Zelda, or a new gamer who can’t get enough Halo or God Of War, Video Games Live has something that You’re going to enjoy. the symphony performance will feature plenty memorable songs from video games like Final Fantasy, Metroid, Warcraft, Chrono Trigger, Silent Hill, Mega Man, Castlevania, and more. and there will alkso be an additional classic arcade medley that will feature tunes from tunes and footage from the likes of Tetris, Pong, Tron, Gauntlet, Donkey Kong, and more.
Video Games Live is coming to Bell Auditorium in Augusta, Georgia on September 25th. It will do double duty at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts on October 11th. Then it will be coming to the Beacon Theatre in New York on October 25th. Finally it will have two nights at Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon and Novermber 7th and 8th before it sets out to play through the rest of the world until 2010 when it starts it’s tour all over again. Live performances of those video game music would be awesome! I mean, you get a different kind of ecstatic feeling especially if you’re hardcore gamer and music enthusiast as well. I hope the musical scoring during those fights on MMOs like WoW or the upcoming Aion will be done LIVE too.
