The Trans-Siberian Orchestra Winter Tour 2009 arrives in Seattle on Saturday, November 21 for two concerts in Key Arena, and with that, the holidays can commence. Oh sure, Christmas merchandise will have been in stores for a month, and Thanksgiving will be just around the corner, but the Trans-Siberian Orchestra really knows how to herald a holiday.
And while the group has produced one album of non-Christmas music – Beethoven’s Last Night in 2000 – and another is on the way – Nightcastle, slated for release on October 27, 2009 – they remain so closely associated with holiday music that I can’t help but think of Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 and Christmas Canon when I think of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
The rock orchestra puts on a spectacular and energizing show with lasers, lights and pyrotechnics and dozens of performers.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, September 19 at 10 am through Ticketmaster. The first concert will be held on Saturday, November 21 at 3 pm and the second will be held at 8 pm that night. Click here for tickets to the early show and click here for tickets to the late show.
