50th & Baltimore is a culturally sound area of West Philadelphia. In that vicinity alone there’s Danger Danger Gallery for music, Satellite Cafe for coffee and art, Dock Street Brewing Co for Hand Brewed beer and artisinal pizza, and Vix Emporium for Crafts. And since many of the people behind the scenes at all of the above are connected it makes perfect sense for them to collaborate on an event. And that event is set to become a reality with Satellite Second Saturdays.

Satellite Second Saturdays is a a Craft Fair that happens every 2nd Saturday of the month April-October, in front of the Firehouse at 50th and Baltimore in the triangle there. it is a new spot where local artists to show and sell their handmade art and crafts. All of the work is handmade by the vendors.

The first one happened on August 8th and was a successful event that featured many different musicians, and a few musicians. It’s going to carry on for two more months in September and October. From that forward it will go into a full 7 month rotation in 2010.
