Lucille Ball was the greatest comedienne ever. Don’t argue with me here. Carol Burnett runs a close second. This should hardly be surprising, since on top of her own merits, Lucy was her mentor and a close friend.
If somehow you missed any part of Carol Burnett’s 50+ year career, you can see her at McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center on Sunday, September 27. The title of the show says it all: Laughter and Reflection with Carol Burnett: A Conversation with Carol where the Audience Asks the Questions.
Burnett is hardly a stranger to the format, as she began most of the episodes of The Carol Burnett Show with a question and answer session with the audience. There were some hilarious moments from that segment, and I expect no less with the current show.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 17, but Seattle Center is offering a presale starting Tuesday, July 14 at 10:00 am and ending Thursday, July 16 at 10:00 pm. Click on this Ticketmaster link and use the password: FUNNY. Tickets run from $49 to $89 and you’re limited to 8.
