Biography

John Teske is a composer, improviser and double bassist living in Seattle. He received his BM in Music Composition from the University of Washington and studied acoustic and electroacoustic composition with Joël-François Durand, Juan Pampin, and Josh Parmenter. He is a member of the classical improv group Unused Lexical Variable, a two-guitar and double bass trio that focuses on improvisation and group composition. John is continually expanding his sound-palette on the double bass through extended-techniques and electronic processing.
