Biography
Katchafire is a New Zealand roots reggae band from Hamilton in the Waikato region- which means nothing to you, unless you've been to Waikato and black-water rafted in the Waitomo glowworm caves amongst the eels and fossilized whale. The reggae scene in New Zealand is HUGE; after all it is island music, and Katchafire is one of the biggest names in the country, with stellar hits like "Collie Herb Man" and "Get Away".

KATCHAFIRE! KATCHAFIRE! KATCHAFIRE!
So my favorite New Zealand reggae band must have finally gotten all my emails and is coming to Seattle! These guys ROCK with easy, island-infused reggae; they are freaking superstars in the Land of the Long White Cloud and DAMN if the singer doesn't have a voice like Bob Marley's.
Katchafire's songs make you want to play hooky and hit the beach, build a bonfire and dance to the sunset. Many of their songs have been remixed by other New Zealand electronic music artists; the island is so small (with the population of LA) that the artists are all in touch and you can hear just about any kind of remix of Katchafire's songs that you want: jungle, house, d&b- pick your medicine.
YES! Katchafire is coming to Seattle! Get ready to get your skank on.
