Biography
Monique Franklin is an aspiring poet and artist from Seattle, Washington. She is 29 years old and has been writing poetry and short stories since the age of eight. She currently writes under the pseudonym Verbal Oasis. She began performing early in life, in family productions, then graduated to high school plays and eventually found herself performing in a poetry/spoken word group "The Dead Poets" based at Shoreline Community College. She is a member of the African American Writer's Alliance and currently reads her work at iNfinity's Lounge in Columbia city, Flava Coffee House in Lake City: Flava's Creative Night of Expression, Tost in Fremont:Seattle Poetry Slam and various other local establishments. The subject matter of her poetry stems from the rich spectrum of her life experiences. Verbal Oasis is a Creative Soul.
