Pat Benatar was one of the biggest rock stars of the early '80s with hits like 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot' and 'Love is a Battlefield.' Her hair-do inspired legions of teenage girls to adapt the kick-ass tom-boy look and still to this day does the karate-kid head tie inspire fear in the hearts of wussie males everywhere. The lyrics, the lady, the lust- Pat Benetar is a true icon of the decade of slouch socks and fluorescent earrings.

Why do metaphors of violence and love always go together so well? Or is it just what people want to hear and read about?
Either way the 5' tall chanteuse could command an army any day- an army with giant bangs and hypercolor shirts.
