Dj Shadow
Biography
DJ Shadow (a.k.a. Josh Davis) drops beats that evoke a late night in the heart of a big city, offering a pastiche of grooves, sound effects, machine hums and endless textures. Often with a dark and ominous slant to his mixes, which showcase his unique style of instrumental hip hop which is tinged with a little trip and a lot of turntablism. Starting as a disc jockey for a UCDavis radio station, DJ Shadow is now one of the most highly acclaimed DJs and producers around and regularly fills huge dance floors with screaming, bouncing, sweaty people.
