Guy Braunstein
Biography
Violinist Guy Braunstein was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, and studied the violin under the guidance of Chaim Taub and later in New-York with Glenn Dicterow and Pinchas Zuckerman. He started performing as a soloist (and a chamber musician) at a young age, world Wide. He played with orchestras such as-The Israel Philharmonic, TonHalle orchestra-Zurich, the Bamberg Symphony, Copenhagen Radio orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic and many others.
He was collaborating with musicians like Issac Stern, Andras Schiff, Zubin Mehta, Maorizio Pollini, Vladimir Fedosejew, Yefim Bronfman and Daniel Barenboim. In 2000,Guy Braunstein was appointed 1st concert master of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under Claudio Abbado and later under Sir Simon Rattle. In 2003 he became professor of music in the university of the arts (UDK) in Berlin. Since 2006 he is the music director of the Rolandseck festival in Germany. In the last years, Guy Branstein is a proud and devoted member of the Middle Eastern West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.
