The young designer made famous for creating First Lady Michelle Obama\’s inaugural gown, Jason Wu, is one of the most in-demand names in fashion right now. Naturally an upcoming line for Target is on the horizon.
After the wild success of Missoni for Target that caused the retailer\’s website to crash and sellout merchandise in stores within an hour, the Jason Wu brand is likely to see a similar frenzy, especially with hype of the affordable campaign buzzing so many months in advance.
â€œThe exciting thing about this limited edition collection of affordable women’s wear and accessories is that it allows me to reach a wider audience and bring my designs to people who may not have been able to purchase them before,â€ he explained in a recent interview with Women\’s Wear Daily. In addition, this collection is likely to reach the mass consumer because of the â€œsophisticated, feminine dresses, mix-and-match separates and playful accessories all with a bit of charm and dressed-up attitude.â€

The highly anticipated collection for Target will not be available in stores or online until February 5, 2012, but fashionistas everywhere are already clamoring over the $20-$60 price range.
